After 8 years as a chartered accountant Anoup Treon co-founded Healthsave, a health insurance company that pioneered pre-authorisation of claims and the elimination of claim forms in the UK PMI market. In 1997, he then founded Union Healthcare with- in the long-term care sector. Union was then sold to the senior management team in 2000 and Anoup then created European Care Group, a pan–European group providing health and social care for children and adults. European Care Group now operates 85 care homes, 3 schools and a number of specialist services, it employs over 4,000 peo- ple and cares for 4,500 services users.
